Bar & Grill Buildout, Atlanta GA

PROJECT BACKGROUND

Icon Development, constructed and built out a Bar & Grill in Historic Kirkwood, located in Atlanta, Georgia.  This project was the last portion of the redevelopment of the Sutton Whisenhut Building inKirkwood’s commercial district.  We converted a grocery store catering to lower income residences, into a local bar and grill.  Project included gutting of 2800 sqft space, installing a full commercial kitchen, 2 ADA bathrooms, new storefronts, as well as the change of use from retail to restaurant.

SUMMARY

• Developed construction documents for original space.
• Handled permitting with the COA
• Handled variance applications in front of the COA and the Neighborhood Associations for offsite parking for the restaurant and mixed-use residential 2nd story loft.
• Bringing 800 amp electrical service for the building to the rear.
• Installation of Hood & Grease Trap.
• Installation of new storefront.
• Conducting a sewer capacity study for the addition of the Restaurant.
• Installation of a full food service kitchens.
• Installation of an exposed duct HVAC systems.
